One of the best known and most popular remedies for reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Botox can also be used to combat excessive sweating, teeth grinding and migraines or to provide a subtle neck lift.

ABOUT BOTOX

  • How does it work?

Wrinkles are caused by the contraction of facial muscles. During youth, as the muscles return to rest these disappear, however, as a result of the effluxion of time during the ageing process, these become permanent. Botox reverses this by relaxing the muscles and hence removes the wrinkles.

  • What are the benefits?

Carefully administered, botox will provide a youthful fresh look to the face whilst allowing completely natural movement and expressions.

  • Risks

Side effects are rare but some patients may experience redness or bruising at the injection site. Occasionally patients have noticed a temporary itch. For some patients, their facial dynamics may not be well suited to Botox and this will be discussed during any consultation.

  • Contra indications for treatment

    Pregnant mothers

Those who have had botox in the past and experienced an allergic or hypsersentive response

Anyone with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome.
